The smart sensor is part of the GARDENA smart system and provides you directly via the GARDENA smart app with the important information about your garden for optimal, economical watering. The sensor measures the moisture content of the soil quickly, reliably and particularly precisely.

Together with the smart Gateway and a GARDENA smart Irrigation Control system, your lawn and plants are only watered when really needed. This prevents unnecessary watering, ensures optimal plant growth and saves precious water. Thanks to the elegant and compact design, the system can be used not only on lawns or in flower beds, but also for planters on a balcony or terrace.

The exceptionally large measuring range makes the smart Sensor a digital root, taking precise measurements directly in the root area of the plants. Whether the sensor is a little deeper in the soil of your lawn or less deep in flower pots, it works quickly and accurately under a variety of soil conditions. Thanks to its flat top section, GARDENA's smart Sensor can be used in the middle of a lawn being mowed with a conventional lawnmower or robotic mower.

Two AA batteries, which ensure safe use throughout the garden season, provide completely wireless and therefore highly flexible operation of the sensor via radio signals. The measurement data for current soil moisture and soil temperature are transmitted via the GARDENA smart Gateway, which is required for use and included in all GARDENA smart system Start Sets, to the GARDENA smart App on your smartphone or tablet (iOS/Android).
